bluwatur bakery is Bahamian owned and operated. We’re based out of ‘the old bank’ on Murray Street and are looking for both full and part-time staff.

Using local is our priority, as is sourcing fair trade, B Corp, organic and similarly trusted quality ingredients.
While prior kitchen / retail experience is not required, a thirst for culinary knowledge is a must. Working at bluwatur is a team effort. Communication skills and a desire for a sense of camaraderie will be the basis of your success, along with patience and problem-solving skills as we interact with the public daily.

- a full day on one’s feet
- excellent communication skills
- availability to work 11am - 3pm Thursday thru Monday or Friday - Monday 10am - 2pm
- the ability to lift a 50-pound bag of flour (though I’ll be happy to help)
- a willingness to give and accept feedback with grace
- a desire to learn about sustainability through action. As a solar powered, mostly off grid building, you’ll have to be open to learning new ways of cleaning, continuously conserving energy, and reducing single use products.
- that no cell phones be used during work hours, we have a landline should you need to provide a number to emergency contacts
- an excellent standard of cleanliness; as all team members work together to clean and sanitise the space each day. This includes washing dishes, taking out the trash, mopping the floor, and cleaning the restroom. This position specifically will focus on these tasks, thus the shorter work day.
